At Eagle Home Partners, we believe that giving back to the community is not just a responsibility; it’s a privilege. As a real estate investor based in Smithfield, NC, I have always felt a deep connection to the community that has supported my journey. This connection deepens each year as the holidays approach, reminding me of the importance of community and the power of giving back. This reflection has led me to establish a meaningful year-round tradition: giving away clothes and essential items to those in need within our community.
The Birth of a Year-Round Tradition
What started as a simple gesture—clearing out my closet and donating unused items—has grown into a larger effort to make a real difference in the lives of others. For many families, a warm coat, a pair of shoes, or even a simple sweater can mean more than just physical comfort—it can represent hope and dignity during challenging times. This realization inspired me to start a year-round clothes giveaway initiative, providing essential clothing to those who need it most.
Partnership with Temple Dream Center
I’m proud to say that this initiative has grown, thanks to the incredible support from our partners at the Temple Dream Center. Ms. Vickie Cappas, one of the most dedicated individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with, has been instrumental in making this project a success. Together, we’ve been able to reach more people and ensure that the clothes reach those who need them the most.

Organizing the Effort: Identifying and Meeting Needs
Every year, I partner with local organizations to identify those who could benefit most from these donations. We organize clothing drives, gather contributions from friends and neighbors, and ensure that each item finds its way to someone in need. The focus is on providing for specific needs, whether it’s winter clothing for children or warm apparel for seniors, helping to ease the burdens many face as the seasons change.
But this tradition is about more than just the act of giving. It’s about fostering a sense of community, building connections, and showing that we care for one another. By giving back in this way, I hope to inspire others to do the same—whether by donating, volunteering, or simply spreading kindness.
The Process: Preparing and Distributing the Clothes
Every giveaway starts with careful preparation. My team and I, along with volunteers from the community, sort through donations, ensure the clothes are in good condition, and organize them for distribution. It’s a labor of love, and seeing the smiles on people’s faces makes it all worthwhile. The clothes are then distributed at various locations throughout Eastern North Carolina, including community centers, shelters, and events organized by local nonprofits. We’ve made it our mission to be as accessible as possible, ensuring that everyone who needs clothing can get it without barriers.
Looking Ahead: Continuing the Mission
This yearly commitment to giving back is a celebration of our shared humanity. As I continue this tradition, I am filled with hope that our collective efforts can make a lasting impact, one small act of kindness at a time. The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, and it motivates us to continue and expand our efforts. We plan to host more frequent giveaways and partner with additional organizations to reach even more people in need. Our goal is to make sure that no one in our community goes without the basic necessities.
